I enjoy the various material patterns and textures in this painting, as well as the ways in which the amber light interacts with the couple and their loveseat. I'm particularly happy with how the transparent material around Yumna's arm came out, Khurram's shoes and both of their faces. I had actually completely changed the direction of the light source on Khurram's face from a separate photo to be consistent with the scene; not an easy task! The area where the intense amber light meets the warm whitish light of the small chandeliers on the draped fabric presented an area with a delicate balance of value and color to be painted.
