Shining Sun On Shallow Water

While dog sitting one time, I explored places in my northern New Jersey neighborhood that I wouldn't normally go to. One such place was this long canal with endless lily pads. I loved the way that the patchwork of sunlight came through the trees and hit the bottom of the shallow water, lighting up the leaves in there between the lily pads. This was such a peaceful, beautiful place, and I couldn't believe that it was there for years right in my own backyard without me knowing about it, down a very unassuming path off of a paved road. Fittingly, you must walk over a small old run-down bridge to get to it, which feels like you are entering an entirely different place from the surrounding area.
