Bethesda Archways

This painting was painted plein air at Central Park's most iconic location, Bethesda Terrace, in New York City. It isn't typically as empty as it appears in the painting, as this is a favorite place to visit for many people any day with nice weather. If you were to turn around from the point of view you see here, you would see the beautiful Bethesda Fountain, showing an angel and cherubs.
